Backup System
Data protection is one of the most important things needed after the actual running of the business. You may be running a great business but once you are relying on a computer system to keep track of all your customer information you could be put out of business in a matter of days or weeks if your data is lost or damaged.
The Energy-Pro/Fuel-Pro backup system will give you peace of mind. The system does both a local and on-line backup of your data. Each day the End-Of-Day procedure makes a Local copy of your data on the hard disk. This backup is good as long as your hard drive does not crash. It is easily accessible by the MAA support team and has saved hours or days of time when there is a minor data file problem. It is not very useful when you have a hard disk crash.
The On-Line backup feature is designed to protect your data in the event of a major problem with your server or even your office building. This backup is normally setup to run in the middle of the night and copies your data to your data storage site on the internet. The data is first compressed then encrypted and then sent to the data storage site.
The On-Line backup also has a Restore command that makes it easy for you to restore your data. It is also setup for periodic testing of the restore command. You can restore the data to a different folder that will not interfere with your everyday operation. It will also open the main data file of the system and display some of the data to you as proof that the data restored and is readable.
